Our Business Holifield Alpaca Farms is committed to producing happy and healthy Alpacas with the finest fleece. We choose our animals with care and quality standards. We are dedicated to improving the fleece characteristics of the American 
Alpaca through selective breeding.
Why Alpacas?
Did you know that Alpaca fleece is as soft as cashmere, warmer than sheep's wool, and hypoallergenic? The fibers have shallow scales so don't produce that "prickly" feeling that other wools can. The Alpaca produces fleece in 22 natural colors, and the ability of the fleece to hold dye without fading or running, provides fashion designers with many options.More and more top of the line designers are using Alpaca fiber.Shearing is done once a year in the spring. It is done as quickly as possible with as little stress on the Alpaca as possible. They feel much better going into the warmer weather without that woolly coat!
Our Breeding Program
Our Alpacas are hand selected based on conformation, characteristics and personality. We have great mothers and have chosen fathers from well known and proven blood lines. Our goal is to selectively breed for the finest and most dense fleece possible although the health and happiness of our Alpacas comes first. You'll find some great pictures of our animals on our herd page.
Sales and support
We love and respect our animals and want to make sure the fit is great for both buyer and alpaca. With every purchase, we offer full support for husbandry skills, equipment needs and use, advice on building your barn, fences and pasture set-up. We want you to succeed!
Special Services
We offer specialized late term pregnancy boarding, with neonatal care and delivery on our farm, monitored closely by our in-house paramedic. We know how nerve racking it can be! Let us take the stress off you.
